Rich serves as President of Investment Management Consultants, Ltd. For over 30 years, he has helped individuals, families and entrepreneurs create and manage their assets.
Rich Behr established Investment Management Consultants, Ltd in 1988 after 12 years as a manger for Integrated Resource/Royal Alliance in order to cater to high net worth investors on a fee for service basis.
Including and prior to Rich's tenure as a brokerage manager, his duties included operational responsibilities and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) compliance for a large brokerage operation. He started his financial services career with an insurance company as a junior actuary developing Defined Benefit Pension Plans for the closely-held corporate market.
In 2005 Rich co-branded 401k Squared in order to separate his pension and compensation consulting activities from his wealth management practice. He specializes in developing up-market pension solutions, qualified and non-qualified compensation plans, and 457 plans for the closely held entrepreneurial market, not-for-profit entities and non-governmental organizations. 401k Squared was recently selected as a contender for PLANSPONSORS® Retirement Plan Advisor Team of the Year award which is based on a series of qualitative and quantitative measures, and included input drawn directly from plan sponsors, whose 401k programs benefit from these services. 401k Squared was also recognized in the "Most successful retirement plan advisers" edition of PLAN ADVISOR™ magazine for achieving an average plan participation rate of 80% or more and was also acknowledged for having 10% more of its business in Defined Benefit Plans.
Rich is a member in good standing of the Economic Development Group for the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and the State of Colorado, where he is the co-chair of the Business Leaders for Responsible Government & serves on the Legislative Action Committee. He also briefly served on the Chamber's Health Care Task Force.
Rich has been the past Chair of the Financial Committee for the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD). As Chair, he helped instigate a merger with Full Sail College, acquiring multiple buildings (8) spread over 250,000 sq. feet of mixed use space. This included mitigating on-site asbestos issues and moving the campus to its new facilities. During his tenure, he assisted RMCAD in becoming a fully accredited art college with three different bodies. He currently serves on the finance committee for RMCAD/Full Sail College. Responsibilities include assistance with bank lines, audited reporting to accrediting boards, state and local compliance and strategic long term planning, especially with on-line education, marketing and ongoing financial compliance. He is also the past finance chair for his church, Most Precious Blood in Denver, CO.
Rich completed his undergraduate degree in finance at St. Francis College of Loretto. He earned a Master's degree in Finance with an Emphasis in Securities Analysis at the University of Colorado, and has done postgraduate studies at the Wharton School of Economics and Rice University. He has been an arbitrator and industry expert for NASD/FINRA. Rich is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) where he has been a lecturer on pension related subjects. Rich is currently completing his QPRC® through the ASPPA organization. In addition, he has acquired his CFP® designation (inactive) and has been awarded his AIF® designation which is the first and only designation that illustrates knowledge and competency in the area of fiduciary responsibility. Rich also holds a PRP® designation, the industry benchmark for measuring retirement sales and service expertise.
Amanda is an Advisor of IMC Limited and 401k Squared. She brings over 11 years of industry experience to 401k Squared and has been instrumental in developing and maintaining our unique processes for plan sponsors and participants.
In addition to leading the Sales and Marketing efforts, Amanda also heads the Fiduciary Compliance department. The department ensures our plans' fiduciaries are operating in accordance with ERISA and the plan document through education, diligence and process.
Utilizing her knowledge and experience in the qualified plan arena, Amanda has written various articles related to retirement planning and fiduciary issues and has most recently been published in the Denver Business Journal. As part of the 401k Squared team, she is a three-time nominee for PLANSPONSOR® magazine's Retirement Plan Advisor Team of the Year award. She is also consistently listed annually in PLANADVISOR® magazine's "Most Successful Retirement Plan Advisors" edition and has been nominated as one of The 401kWire's 300 Most Influential Advisors in Defined Contribution for 2010.
Amanda has been awarded the PRP® designation, the industry benchmark for measuring retirement sales and service expertise, and has also qualified to sit for the CFP® examination. She is currently pursuing her QPFC® credential through the ASPPA organization. Amanda earned her degree in Financial Services and Planning from Baylor University. While at Baylor, Amanda was a letter winner on the Lady Bear Basketball and Track teams.
She has been involved with the Gold Crown Foundation, coaching the Columbine Girls Basketball Team for the past two years. She is also an active member of the South Metro Chamber, serving on the Leadership Committee for the Helping Young Professionals Excel (HYPE) group.
A Texas native, Amanda now lives in Highlands Ranch with her husband, David. As avid outdoor enthusiasts, they can be found year-round on the slopes, in the streams, and out in the backcountry enjoying all the activities Colorado has to offer.
